Woman Reading in a Green Armchair Poster

Seated in an emerald-green armchair, a woman with short black hair reads an open book. Her head inclines towards the pages; her legs cross beneath a coral skirt. The cobalt-blue top stands out against mauve punctuated by red. This poster of a woman reading a book shows a moment of reading without revealing the book's text or title.

The book draws the eye amid the colours

Her hands hold either side of the light pages. Their ivory creates a small luminous area at the centre, between the blue clothing and the skirt's reds. The armchair surrounds the figure without hiding her; its rounded arms form a frame within the frame.

The posture is absorbed, but the composition is not still. Crossed legs and the folds of the skirt give the scene a diagonal. Brushed areas of mauve, green and coral retain the spontaneity of a painted illustration. Reading remains the visible subject: there is no need to imagine which book she has chosen or how she feels.

An image for a reading corner

Near a bookcase, the poster naturally reflects the use of the space while bringing brighter colours than the book spines. In a living room, it can sit beside a real armchair with a discreet echo of the image's green. On a light wall, the broad cobalt and emerald blocks stay legible from a few steps away.

The body and armchair are shown in full within the portrait format. The scene suits a room where you like to pause, open a book and take a few minutes for yourself, without turning the poster into a literary quotation.
