Our environmental commitment: print-on-demand art
At Art Virtuoso, our canvas prints and posters are printed on demand, after you place your order. This approach allows us to offer a wide selection of artworks without producing large batches of finished prints to sell later. Our commitment to more responsible production starts with this practical choice: making products in response to the orders we receive.
Print on demand to limit overproduction
You choose an artwork and its size; production then begins for your order. This avoids printing entire collections in advance when some of those prints might remain unsold.
This model helps limit waste associated with stocks of finished prints. It does not eliminate the resources needed for production: the materials, printing, packaging and transport also have an impact.
- Production linked to demand: artworks are printed for the orders we receive.
- Fewer finished prints in stock: we do not need to print every design and size in the catalogue in advance.
- Choosing the artwork before it is made: you select a canvas print or poster for your home, then we arrange its production.
Choosing materials to suit the artwork
The material, finish and conditions in which an artwork will be displayed matter when choosing wall art. Paper, canvas and stretcher frame specifications can vary by product. Please check the artwork’s product page for information about the item you are interested in.
A certification, material composition or ink type should not be assumed to apply to every artwork. If a particular specification matters to your choice, our customer service team can advise you before you buy.
To keep your artwork in good condition, follow the care instructions for its material and choose a suitable place to display it. How well it lasts depends, among other things, on the product and its exposure to its surroundings.
Protecting artworks and arranging delivery
The primary purpose of packaging is to protect the artwork in transit. Its shape and materials depend on the product, its size and the production facility. A stretched canvas and a poster do not need the same protection.
Our partners have production facilities in several regions, including Europe and North America. Production within the recipient’s region may be used when the product and available capacity allow; this is not guaranteed for every order.
After delivery, reuse packaging components where possible and follow your local recycling instructions for each material.
A commitment based on practical choices
Our approach is based on print on demand and providing information about our artworks that is as accurate as possible. We distinguish individual product specifications from our partners’ broader commitments.
A supplier’s environmental data does not automatically provide an environmental assessment of an Art Virtuoso canvas print. We prioritise information that helps you make your purchase over a single figure presented as applying to every artwork.
