Senecio and Twittering Machine date from 1922; Angelus Novus from 1920. These three works do not sum up all of Klee’s art, but show very different relationships between figure, line and colour. Senecio’s face favours geometric shapes. Twittering Machine brings birds and mechanism together. Angelus Novus centres on a figure whose features invite close attention.
Choosing colour or a delicate line
Senecio has large warm areas visible from across a room. The other two works rely more on drawing and detail. Consider where you plan to hang the print: a wall seen from afar and a spot near a seat call for different ways of looking. Also compare the image’s contrast with your wall paint and existing textiles.
