Fauvist-inspired face poster – Inner light

A face fills almost the entire frame. The luminous orange of the cheek meets deep teal, while the neck combines dark green with touches of gold. The gaze remains direct amid these freely chosen colours. For anyone looking for an abstract drawing of a face in colour, this poster offers a more figurative response: the features are preserved, but the light invents its own palette.

Colours that shape rather than divide

The head tilts very slightly; the short, plum-purple hair extends beyond the top edge in a close crop. The eyes, nose, mouth and ears remain clearly readable. Colour changes follow the contours of the forehead and cheeks, then continue into the neck. There is no need to see geometric facets where broad painted strokes give the face continuity.

The lavender background keeps the orange from overwhelming the composition. A yellow highlight draws the eye to the lit areas, while blue shadows lend them unexpected depth. The Fauvist inspiration lies in this freedom of colour; it describes the portrait's appearance without claiming a particular technique or historical attribution.

A lively presence on the wall

In an entrance hall, the close crop creates a welcoming focal point visible as you pass. Above a simple console, the lilac background can work with light tones while orange provides the main energy. In a study, the figure's gaze offers a more personal presence than a purely decorative motif.

A clear space will better bring out the transitions between orange, turquoise and violet. The strength comes from the face itself: colour reinvents it without making it disappear.
