An Englishman in Moscow – Kasimir Malevich Wall Art

A Visual Symphony of the Russian Avant-Garde

Our An Englishman in Moscow wall art by Kasimir Malevich represents one of the most iconic works of Russian Cubo-Futurism. This teeming abstract composition blends Cyrillic typographies, fragmented geometric forms, and cultural symbols in a fascinating visual whirlwind. At the center, a mysterious white fish-shaped figure bears an enigmatic smile, while an Orthodox church with blue domes anchors the scene in the Moscow imaginary. The scattered letters and words — "ТМЕЧНЕ" (sword), the figures "3А" — create an encoded narrative that engages with the pictorial elements. This explosive work of art captures the cultural effervescence of pre-revolutionary Russia.

A Cubo-Futurist Collage of Multiple Layers

This Cubist painting is distinguished by its bold palette where luminous yellows engage with deep blues, intense greens, and brilliant reds. Each fragment of color functions like a piece of a complex puzzle: the lit candle evoking Orthodox tradition, the yellow-and-black striped spoon recalling everyday objects, the isolated eye scrutinizing the viewer with intensity. The high-definition canvas print faithfully restores the varied textures — from matte flat areas to more textured zones — as well as the authentic craquelure that testifies to the venerable age of this modern canvas. The typographies, treated as full plastic elements in their own right, add a poetic dimension to this exceptional wall art.

Cubo-Futurism at the Peak of Its Expression

This abstract wall art perfectly illustrates the fusion between French Cubism and Italian Futurism that Malevich masterfully synthesized. The fragmentation of space, the simultaneity of viewpoints, and the shattering of forms create a visual dynamic that evokes the creative chaos of Moscow at the dawn of the 20th century. The central figure — half man, half fish — perhaps symbolizes the foreigner (the Englishman) lost in the Russian cultural labyrinth. Architectural, religious, and everyday references overlap to create a mental map of the city. Ideal for a contemporary interior, this modern painting brings intellectual sophistication and unparalleled visual energy to your interior décor.

A Window onto the Golden Age of Russian Art

In large format, this decorative wall art becomes a true artistic statement. The work captures that unique moment when Russian art was engaging in dialogue with European avant-gardes while forging its own identity. Every glance reveals new details: a hidden geometric form, a letter that takes on meaning, a symbol that resonates with the whole. This wall art does not merely beautify your space — it invites an intellectual and visual journey into Malevich's teeming universe. A work for conversation, meditation, and the celebration of boundless creativity.
