Stone basin poster – The wooden ladle

Seen from above, a square stone basin surrounds a round hollow filled with water. A long wooden ladle rests diagonally across the rim, its cup close to the upper-left corner. This stone basin and ladle poster focuses on reflections rather than movement. Leaves and sky reappear on the water’s surface, like a second garden contained within the stone.

A wooden ladle crosses the basin diagonally

The pale handle spans almost the full width and gives the image a clear direction. It crosses the dark circle of water without hiding it, then reaches the stone rim covered with small patches of moss. The square basin and its round hollow create a simple interplay of shapes. The ladle provides a sense of scale in this close-up scene. There is no jet or bamboo pipe: the water is still, unlike a flowing fountain.

Around the basin, ferns and broad leaves occupy several layers of depth. Their reflections mingle with the blue-grey sky, while the stone retains a rough, almost grainy texture. There is no text printed on the poster. It depicts neither a ceremony nor a specific cultural origin; all we see is a garden water basin and the object resting on its rim.

Reflected foliage for a bathroom

Against a pale living-room wall, the greys of the stone and greens of the foliage add a quiet depth. In a bathroom, the depicted water naturally echoes the room’s purpose, without suggesting that the illustrated basin is included. Wooden accessories can pick up the colour of the ladle, but the tightly framed image also stands on its own.

This poster appeals to those who enjoy looking at the small details of a garden: moss along an edge, a leaf inverted in its reflection, light in the depths of the water. Its calm comes from close observation, not an imposed symbol.
