Scandinavian red rowan berries poster on powder blue

Red berry clusters in a broad blue field

One branch descends diagonally from the upper part of the image; another seems to enter from the side. Their serrated grey-green leaves frame several round clusters of bright red berries. The powder-blue background deliberately remains prominent. It separates the branches as much as it brings them together, leaving space around each group of berries.

This red rowan berries poster shows neither birds nor a winter landscape. The botanical motif is enough on its own. The small berries attract the eye first, then the bark-brown stems lead it back towards the leaves. The illustration pairs precise forms with a light composition: nothing is arranged as a wreath, bouquet or regular border.

A few colour accents for a quiet interior

Above living-room furniture, the blue softens the image's presence while the red clusters give it a clear focal point. In a study, the diagonal branches introduce calm movement among often straight-edged surfaces. The image can also accompany other botanical posters, provided there is enough space around its branches to preserve their clear outlines.

A cluster appears high in the image, another lower down; between them, much of the powder-blue field stays open. Grey-green leaves surround the red berries discreetly enough for them to remain easy to see. The branches' diagonal movement avoids the effect of a repeated pattern or botanical border. Your eye can follow the stems, pause on the little fruits and return to the calm background without another subject taking over.
