Percheron Horse Canvas Print — Power of the Perche

The French Draft Horse

This Percheron horse canvas print pays tribute to the iconic draft breed from the Perche region of Normandy. Dapple-grey coat, massive musculature, feathered forelegs: everything speaks to the quiet strength of the working horse — the Percheron of old, pulling ploughs and stage coaches. The scene unfolds in a rural farmyard, a weathered stone building in the background. An iconography that recalls the great French animal painters of the 19th century — Rosa Bonheur above all, whose celebrated Horse Fair consecrated the nobility of the draft horse.

Dapple Grey and Patinated Ochres

The rural palette plays on soft, earthy tones: the pearlescent grey of the dappled coat, patinated ochres of ancient walls, emerald greens of wild grasses, the pink-orange tile of the rooftop behind. The painterly treatment embraces its kinship with 19th-century French rural painting — a supple brush, soft contours, diffuse rather than dramatic light. Classic animal painting that celebrates the noble rusticity of the Percheron without ever slipping into predictable picturesque.

A Piece That Grounds a Room

This grey horse wall art finds its place in a country-chic kitchen, a rural dining room, a living room with natural materials, a Provençal farmhouse, a manor or period home. Its horizontal format and gentle palette make it an artwork that anchors a space in a soothing decorative tradition. On 470 g/m² cotton canvas hand-stretched over a solid wood frame, high-definition printing captures every nuance of the dapple grey and the warmth of the ochres. Matte finish, free shipping.
