Mare and Foal Canvas Print — Original Tenderness

An Intimate Scene Between Mother and Young

This mare and foal canvas print captures a suspended moment: the mother, cream-coated, gently tilts her head toward her chestnut foal nestled against her. The scene unfolds in a pasture bathed in golden light, at the hour when the sun descends and stretches the shadows. The half-closed maternal eye, the protective posture: everything speaks of the original tenderness of the equine bond. A rare composition in animal portraiture — intimacy rather than majesty.

Golden Light and a Mary Cassatt Touch

The golden palette draws from the painters of the late 19th century who depicted childhood and motherhood — Mary Cassatt above all. Cream, ivory, burnt sienna, amber chestnut: warm hues envelop the scene in a serene atmosphere. The painterly treatment favors visible brushstrokes, soft blends, and backgrounds rendered as suggestions rather than details. A sensitive artwork rooted in the tradition of intimate portraiture.

A Piece for Living Spaces

This equestrian canvas print finds its natural place in a family living room, a master bedroom, a child’s room in neutral tones, or a welcoming entryway. Its horizontal format and gentle palette make it a reassuring element that never overwhelms a space. On a 470 g/m² cotton canvas hand-stretched over a solid wood frame, the high-definition print preserves the subtlety of the blends and the warmth of the golden light. Matte finish. Five sizes, free shipping.
