Japanese Maple Poster – Red Reflection

Vivid red foliage stretches to the left above almost still water. This Japanese maple poster with a red reflection shows a tree rooted among dark rocks, its leaning trunk following the spread of the branches. Blue mist gradually fades the forest behind it. The subject feels both very close and surrounded by silent space.

The red continues into the dark water

The small, deeply lobed leaves form a luminous mass, but gaps between them reveal the black network of branches. Below, their reflection in the dark water repeats the same breadth with less definition. This difference creates a dialogue between a clearly defined presence and its double, with no other subject diverting attention.

The stones on the bank give the trunk a firm footing. Their cool surfaces echo the blue background, while the red retains all its warmth. The image shows neither cherry blossom nor a monument: the maple and its reflection alone form the landscape. With no text, you can follow the curve of the branches and then move freely down towards the water.

A deep red in a room with simple lines

In the living room, a dark armchair or black table can complement the rocky base of the composition. An ecru wall brings out the foliage; plain textiles avoid competing with its details. Red can remain concentrated in the poster as a single accent rather than a colour repeated in every accessory.

This poster offers an intensity of colour that still allows for calm. The mist and smooth surface temper the vivid leaves, inviting a longer look rather than a quick glance. In a restrained bedroom, it can also become a familiar landscape where you first rediscover the tree, then the blue depth around it.
