Coral and turquoise accordion folds poster

The folds fill the frame

There is no complete object or surrounding setting here. The composition moves in on an accordion-like surface until coral, turquoise and lavender facets fill the frame. Lines descend almost vertically, then bend towards the centre. Subtle changes in light suggest hollows and raised areas, as in folded paper, without turning the poster into a sculpted object.

This accordion folds poster differs from geometry with perfectly straight edges: its rhythm is more fluid, shaped by the way the bands bend and meet. Your gaze can follow a single ridge or take in the succession of coloured facets.

The bend near the centre changes the direction of the bands without breaking their continuity. Some facets catch more light; the next retreat into a softer shade. You can almost trace a sequence of folding gestures, but the image shows neither hands nor a workshop. It focuses on the visual result: alternating surfaces and shadows that need no accessories to hold your attention.

Colour without a static repeating pattern

In a living room, turquoise can echo a blue-green textile while coral keeps a warm note. In a study, the folds introduce a sense of movement without words or a subject demanding interpretation. Against a plain wall, the gentle shadows are easier to distinguish, allowing the drawing's full depth to emerge.

The composition remains abstract, yet its suggestion of texture offers something familiar to contemplate: a surface you imagine unfolding, strip by strip.
