Contemporary Poster – Segmented Bust

A face with closed eyes seems to turn inwards. Its coral form is divided into four horizontal sections, barely shifted in relation to one another. This contemporary bust poster combines a serene expression with a disconcerting construction. Fine dark gaps interrupt the portrait without making its features unrecognisable.

An interrupted face, a tranquil gaze

The upper section floats slightly above the eyebrows. A second division crosses the middle of the face, while a third separates the chin from the neck. The shifts are small, so the closed eyes, nose and lips retain their continuity. The figure's calm withstands the cuts, while the black lines prompt the eye to reconstruct the face.

The lavender background contains no accessories. A dark green base supports the depicted bust, creating a clear contrast with the terracotta face. Light enters from the right, highlighting the planes of the forehead and cheek; shadows in the gaps give the composition its distinctive rhythm.

A portrait that invites a longer look

In a peaceful living room or beside a reading corner, this image brings a human presence without an insistent expression. The concise palette leaves room for soft materials or more graphic furniture. The portrait reveals neither an identity nor a story: the cuts raise a visual question, while the closed eyes preserve a sense of rest.
