A golden clock face above a narrow Rouen street

The large clock is the first thing to catch the eye: a deep blue circle ringed with gold numerals and centred on a radiant sun motif. Beneath it, a stone arch opens onto a narrow street. This Rouen poster treats Le Gros-Horloge as both a richly decorated landmark and a gateway into the surrounding architecture.

Half-timbered houses lean visually towards the central structure from the left, while a tall stone tower anchors the right. Rooflines, windows and ornamental points fill the upper half with small changes of shape. Through the arch, the street continues towards a distant spire, extending the view beyond the imposing clock.

Fine dark lines run across cream stone, clouds and facades, giving the illustration an engraved appearance. ROUEN and LE GROS-HORLOGE are printed above the scene in dark serif lettering.
