Prism and Spectrum Geometric Poster

Light changes colour within the image

A pale beam enters from the upper left and meets the faces of a large transparent-looking prism. As it emerges, colours spread towards the lower right: blue, cyan, yellow, magenta and white reflections stand out against an almost black background. The close crop gives the prism's edges much of the image, with reflections extending the beam rather than enclosing it.

This illuminated prism poster pairs a precise geometric form with freer light. The spectrum is not simply a gradient placed behind a triangle: it appears to pass through the transparent faces, divide and colour the surrounding dark surface. The image has a photographic appearance, without making the poster a glass object or a scientific experiment to reproduce.

A flash of colour on an understated wall

In a study, the diagonal beam guides the eye and luminous colours add energy without covering the whole wall. In a neutral living room, the dark background creates a strong contrast; a few blue or yellow details nearby are enough to echo the spectrum. The poster can stand alone, because the reflections already create a scene of their own.

The portrait format emphasises the height of the faces and lets the colours descend through the image. If you enjoy abstract compositions but want a recognisable visual phenomenon, the prism and its beams provide an immediate way in, followed by many details to discover.
