Art Deco Sun Poster – Emerald Steps

The radiant disc behind the green tiers

At the centre, an imaginary structure rises in stages before a large pale disc. Gold-coloured rays extend to the upper edges; their momentum contrasts with the straight lines and steps in the foreground. On either side, coral volumes and stylised palm fronds balance the green silhouette. This Art Deco sun poster depicts neither a real city nor a real building: it assembles architectural forms to create an impression of height and light. Emerald green shifts from dark to lighter tones across the successive planes. The ivory disc opens up the centre, while the black sky gives the rays their clarity. The word “gold” describes the illustrated colour, without suggesting metallic gilding.

Symmetry that brings order to a room

The composition first reads as an axis: the steps lead towards the central form, then the eye rises towards the circle and its beams. This arrangement can anchor a living-room wall with simple lines. In a study, the poster adds depth to a workspace without calling for a narrative or historical reading. The coral details keep the green and black from feeling too cold; the palm fronds offer a softer counterpoint to the angles. Choose a position where the vertical silhouette remains whole, preserving the dialogue between the lower steps and the upper rays. The result is graphic and architectural, evoking the sun rather than depicting a sunrise. The visual's strength lies in this journey of the eye, from the ordered base to the luminous opening.
