Art Deco Gazelle Duo Poster – Jade and Ivory

Two figures facing opposite ways

The ivory gazelle occupies the foreground, its head turned to the left. Behind it, a copper-coloured figure looks the other way; their bodies overlap without merging. The long ringed horns trace two delicate curves above their heads, while reeds rise against a deep jade green background. A few coral steps cross the middle of the scene, giving the composition a geometric foundation. This Art Deco gazelle poster favours profiles, facets and colour contrasts over a realistic wildlife landscape. The drawing does not allow a precise zoological species to be identified. Jade, copper and gold refer here to depicted colours, never to materials added to the poster. With no printed text, the figures have the space entirely to themselves.

The calm of a duo in a graphic setting

The dark green brings out the pale gazelle and allows the second to emerge more softly. These different planes create depth without scattering your attention: your eye always returns to the point where the two animals overlap. In a living room, the poster can sit alongside warm woods and ecru fabrics; the coral then prevents the combination from feeling too restrained. In a bedroom, its still profiles and muted colours can create a place for the eye to rest. The upright reeds echo the image's vertical format, while the slender legs and horns give it an unexpected lightness. Those who enjoy stylised animal illustration will find a scene that is both precise and open-ended: two distinct presences, one shared space, no imposed story. The duo holds together through this balance between opposing gazes and unified lines.
